Thread regarding Blue Shield of Californa layoffs

IT leadership is incompetent

I was with Blue Shield of CA for over 10 years and the culture became toxic in IT since the re-org happened in 2016. No clear vision, frequent re-orgs in the name of new mission/vision, however the next year they do re-org again. In 2020 new CIO joined and came up with new operating model and again a massive re-org at the Dir & above level. The new operating model is kind of disaster and unnecessary spending and the funny part was that the ICs and Delivery leads are left to figure out how to operate and was searching in dark and hardly any directions from senior leadership.Employees started feeling frustrated with such changes and started loosing trust in our leadership. On top of that lots of favoritism. No longer a good company to work for especially in IT. Heard the business side is totally opposite. As I said, the IT leadership is not that competant and bring their own buddies internally and spoiled it further.

plus the new IT leadership that were recently hired are too micro-managing and now want to control what the business initiatives. They can't even get existing IT projects on-track, and they want to tell the business side how to do their jobs? Over-reaching much? Complete nightmare!

Laid off hundreds of employees to outsource to offshore company while they try to figure out how to ram Everything to the cloud as fast as possible. This won’t end well.
