Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

This place is so tiring

I just want to do the work I was hired to do and go home. But instead, I’m stuck in nonstop meetings where nothing gets figured out. It’s the same problems over and over, just louder. Half the time it feels like people are talking just to talk. It’s exhausting and doesn’t help anyone get anything done.

I was about to make this post but someone already made it. I find this to be entirely accurate. BNY is clown college. They are hoping for a merger, but who would want to take over this place in this state.....

@OP Since so many subject matter experts are gone, that leaves people with less experience to do those jobs, and those few with more knowledge overworked. Everyone is basically in the same boat. Good luck.

And it’s the same teams causing the issues that you have to bail out while you’re on the chopping block but they aren't.

Talk about worthless meetings… Try working in the finance flod team.

They have a team of a dozen people doing the work of 3.
& the “ manager” of the group is only worried about visibility to his Managers since he is fully remote despite all of his staff having to work in the office

Meetings are essential. They allow executives to give the appearance that they are doing work.

Meeting with a bunch of Indias who just sc--w everything up then meetings to discuss how to fix but since so many Indians are always around nobody can give the real answer on how to fix things….

Don’t worry. Help is on the way. In 34 days right after labor day, we will be going into the office 4 days a week! All our problems will be solved and since we will be around doing the collubuttering thing, the noise levels will come down. Yes, just like Belinda Carlisle sings, heaven on Earth awaits! Now.. don’t you feel better?
