I have noticed BNY has an internal agency for contract employment.
I applied for a handful of BNY contractor roles, thinking these may be better than staff positions, and I have noticed each position I applied for is now "ON HOLD."
Is BNY currently in a hiring freeze for both staff and contract roles?
There is a freeze but I have seen over 2 dozen contractors start recently/now in other groups, mainly out of India. Meanwhile all positions in my group will not be hired for the remainder of the year no matter what location.
Yes, there’s a hiring freeze and any position not filled by end of October will very likely be eliminated. They are preparing for a merger and need to reduce costs and redundant positions ahead of the official announcement.
