I’m not sure where that information came from, but layoffs at Optum and WellMed are expected to continue approximately every six weeks. It seems leadership is trying to retain some employees in the meantime, which may explain the mixed messages being shared.

An HR leader confirmed that this cycle is expected to continue into at least Q2 2026. Please be mindful not to spread inaccurate information, employees deserve transparency so they can prepare themselves and their families accordingly.

@bg As a previous director, that is nonsense. I, myself, had to RIF people right after Thanksgiving weekend. Yeah, go spend all your money on black Friday, then come in Monday and find out you don't have a job.

Performance does not matter. Is all comes down to what is your total cost of existing and popularity contest among those people who get to vote. So dont work hard wasted energy

Not true at all. I can confirm there is one scheduled for November 13 before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Oh thank goodness, no more layoffs for two months. Phew! What a load off my back! Glad this company is showing so much restraint!

I don’t believe they are forced to not do more because of finances. I have been with company 20+ years and seen Mid December rif. Never believe anything.

@aq unless you mean board of directors level, no other director level people would be in the loop/knowledgable, outside maybe HR.

For some reason, I think they are lying. I think they’re just doing this so that people work really hard and be productive to try to keep their job. I don’t believe anything senior leadership says or does anymore. These people are criminal. Maybe they will wait until performance reviews come around where they take high-performing teams and force somebody to be a two only give a couple people fours or fives. And the people who have been threes are the next on the layoff list along with the twos They’re setting us up for failure. When you think about it, it’s actually mentally abusive. Especially if you can demonstrate how you’ve exceeded the expectations that were documented, but they won’t give it to you anyway those decisions are made before we ever start putting anything down The system is rigged and they know it The only people they care about making the health system work for is the stockholders And for themselves None of these id--ts that have made these decisions that have really hurt. The company have taken a pay cut. The ones you’ve left have still left with their big bonuses In the meantime, everyone else struggles to fix their mistakes yet they keep cutting and cutting It’s a disaster I honestly think what’s keeping most people at the company is the fact that the job market isn’t very good right now. It’s not like there’s lots of opportunities and it’s not like we’ve got a great leadership taking us in a good direction.

If they didn't change their minds on so much, so often I'd take more comfort from this.
