Should I disclose expensive disability now in the wake of layoffs. Would it protect or hurt me?

Don't think that if you disclose a disability now, it will protect you from the current layoffs. The bank has had their lists for some time - it will be easy for them to prove that they did not discriminate against you. This isn't their first rodeo.
I highly recommend you talk to a disability attorney before disclosing anything. Or at least read about your legal rights around requesting accommodations. I've been in this situation, and I did both of the above which was immensely helpful. Google "disclosing disability to employer" and check the info on the DOL and ADA websites.
OP, for something like that, you should submit a formal accommodation request. I recommend talking to your manager first to see what can be done. If reasonable, accommodations for disability should be approved
@hlk 4Op here. Well I want to ask for a different wfh schedule, hopefully a permanent one. I also don't want to give an incentive for a layoff, such as higher insurance cost.
You can disclose a disability through supposedly private paperwork that BNY Mellon uses to show employment numbers. You can also tell your manager, but I’m not sure how much that matters here.
How does one even disclose a disability? Do they care if it doesn't impact your work?
