For those fired, you should have received an WPBA Analysis.pdf to show that no age discrimination occurred.
Can you post the number of employees affected and the name of your "Group Covered/Decisional Unit"?

Why the heck wouldn’t anybody sign the agreement quickly? It’s a great package and no lawyer could ever do better. It’s actually the only competitive benefit that we have.
Have you fallen on your head recently?
Ignore the criticism. You are a man of principles and that really counts from any employee of this horrible bank. Good luck and I’m sure that you’ll find a great opportunity.
I signed mine, I don’t want to delay my year long vacation. Pay for a year + the unemployment payment bonus, thank you BNYM.
Senior Mgt isn’t the problem, it’s the institutional investors that own the company that find these bozzo’s to run it.
@fek,
Do you really think anyone already signed their agreement?
I was (happily) laid-off myself on Tuesday, but just to play Devil's Advocate...
If the goal of the lay-off is to save the company money, wouldn't it be the case that older employees would be the ones laid-off as they tend to make more money?
I'm "older" and a K level. Howe many people in India would they have to get rid of to save the same amount of money they are saving on me?

Wouldn't disclosing it here be a violation of the separation agreement that was signed?
I was 62 when I got turfed in September. The list of names let go in my division in NJ suggests that many older employees were let go this week. Also curious, not a single Indian name (I was in IT/PMO)
For my LOB the average age of layoff is 57.5, median is 60.
Yes - the OWBPA requires the employer to provide affected employees over 40 with information detailing ages and job titles of all the employees being terminated, the ages of all employees being retained, and any eligibility factors and time limits applicable for the termination this offer. This would be interesting to look at if someone can share.
