Shouldnt a manager make more money than his team associates? How does that work?

If managers were paid fairly for their effectiveness and accomplishments at the bank, they would be broke.
Managers are there to take your credit so they got higher pay.
If a 25 year old is making as much as you. Good for them. But you should probably reevaluate yourself.
Lots of factors involved. Associates have been transitioned to different departments. Some were managers and are now individual contributors. We had an associate transfer from the Northeast down South a couple years ago. Her salary is much higher than mine because they pay more up North due to cost of living.

Not always. There are plenty of managers making less than their employees. Especially band 5 reporting to band 5.
My opinion, yes they should IF the seniority is equal. It carries much more responsibility than an individual contributor.
I do think if they are managing for 1 year and their subordinates are there for 1 year their pay should be more.
I don't think a 25 year old straight out of college put in charge of managing a team should be making more than someone who began working for the bank before that person was born. That's insulting.
