Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

The same rules never apply to everyone

What's even more frustrating than the actual work from office is the fact that rules here are never applied equally to everyone, so someone will really come to the office regularly, and those who are favorites will successfully "avoid" that rule. Anyone else feel that way?

Those with accommodations can come in as often or as little they chose. You can’t assume you know the circumstances as that’s confidential and not something they should disclose.

That’s all over the bank. They don’t care enough to break it up, it’s sort of like unofficial unions since they tend to run entire integral departments and not let new people in who might take over, so they can’t be let go. That’s what has been and what will ultimately ki-l the bank, since these people don’t care enough to keep up to date with how things are running.

You never know anyone’s circumstances. The bank was fantastic to me when I had a parent with cancer. I didn’t come in for several months but worked the whole time.

I said goodbye when people got promoted during the George Floyd mess for the color of their skin, in role/department less than a month, It was disgusting because other people of the same color couldn’t get promoted a month before and went to other areas. Virtue signaling.

You shouldn’t be mad at the people not coming in. Be mad that leadership has unrealistic expectations of ALL in terms of office time.

I would recommend moving teams or LOBs

Usually any related reporting which comes out is across the board (aka favorites cannot hide from it), so your question may be "are there consequences to not coming in." At the end of the day, though, who cares what others are doing - you need to make your own choice whether to follow the rules or not.
