Let's remember it took Dell 25+ years to replace DOMS, and they had tons of resources sunk into that too.
@jm Two of my coworkers were drafted from our team to work on the nda project. Both have told me that they gave been in "stand by mode" for the past 3 months. So I got stuck with their real workload while they twiddle their thumbs and watch Netflix.
@cz I'm very very aware of what the nda is and how it's a massive clusterF. Trust me, I know. I can't wait till it either goes live or fails and my money is on that it fails and/or gets delayed time and time again...
From what I heard there are about 20k people on this "project" and the "head guy" doesn't have a gd clue what to do half the time, how to do it and has very basic "technical" skillsets. Also, why on earth would they choose oracle of all companies lmfao?
@ab AI = Actual Indians
dell internal AI portal is great. did you try to use the API? :D
The project is a huge nothing burger and will fail like every other internal initiative while the consultants building it will take away giant bags of cash that could have been used to give employees fair raises.
Supposedly they're working on replacing all tools/apps/databases companywide with a singleone size fits no one solution from oracle. This will somehow fix our terrible AI so MD can replace everyone below the c suite. Unsurprisingly it failed miserably when it was brought online for testing and rollout was delayed. Most likely not the last delay we will see.
Dell has onto increase their Indian head count and reduce US headcount too.
Oh, for God sake, wake up and smell the coffee. It’s called Project Maverick. Jeff Clark has spoken about it out loud himself. It has been delayed until Q2 of the coming fiscal year. Anyway Jeff Clark is gonna fly over in a fighter jet and bo-b about half of us so that he doesn’t have to pay us severance. That’s the big secret.
