As useful as an ash-tray on a motorbike!
UK Works Council are nice enough people, but the UK WC are consultative only.
In other EU countries the WC's there have actual teeth (Germany for example).
If you ask any of the members of the UK WC about this stuff they will probably be honest with you and say that they have raised it but the company doesn't want to hear them and they are ignored just like everyone else.
Unions... well, the unions will tell you that they don't have enough membership to do anything. So why don't you join and get your colleagues too as well...
However, main union in DXC UK is Unite. Even when things were in the darkest of days of mass M1 destruction they didn't care. Many thousands were laid off, the remainder refused raises for years and silence in return from Unite, not even a union newsletter mention. At the same time they were asking Unite members to support public sector workers who were only getting cost of living matched pay rises.
Make of that what you will. I make of it that those white collar workers in IT are not true workers to show any solidarity with. They are all rich right?
No, basically we are on our own.... and DXC knows it.
It's everyone for themselves. There's no point negotiating. There's no point threatening. Nobody is listening and nothing will change. You will get the same pay no matter what you do or in fact don't do around here. Doing nothing is often seen as preferable. You cannot make a mistake if you get it wrong. You get no reward if you get it right.
There's a UK Workers Council, they have a group on Engage site. It has a list of their reps by area so you can contact them directly if you want or just ask on the group.
There are the various usual suspects unions with DXC staff, mostly small pockets of transitioned staff from over the years.
Again could ask on UKWC Engage group about unions if you don't have any local contacts.
Although if you aren't already a member of a union you might need to moderate any expectations of help from them.
I believe they have a "workers council", there must be some reference to it on the intranet somewhere - but no union from my knowledge. Might be a reference to it somewhere in your emails if you search through that
