Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

HR said it today…

HR said on a leadership call today, “the bank won’t be offering emergency pay for COVID in 2023.. and we’re getting away from the COVID environment/approach all together…”
When asked if they’re going to announce that… the answer was “nope”! Cowards can’t even share the new approach. All while cases are increasing again. Id--ts.

Well, then I’ll be sure to come into the office when I have COVID because I’m not blowing through sick time that I need to save for an operation this year.. and yes, I said “when” because it’s inevitable given how close I sit to peers in this id--tic open floor design.

So does this mean we can come to work with Covid then? This is crazy. I know in my group we only get to work from home 5 days a month so that getting time to recover then have time to work from home till your 100% would be good. I’m healthy and vaccinated and boosted and it had still not been easy having it, and I would not want people to feel they have no choice but to work in person and give to everyone else like it is a regular cold.

If you hadn't bred, none of this would have to be said.

@1tfo+1kiKjKDD You made the decision to have children. Deal with it and stop trying to act like it’s some honorable sacrifice. Parents aren’t martyrs.

Many folks with kids did double-duty! If kid is sick, we worked from home and STILL had to take care of our kid! They don’t force you to not work, nor do they even encourage it… we still work and they don’t suggest we log off. PLUS! My kid didn’t get sick until I caught COVID from a peer who sits 36” from me in our cubes- so nice try, but parents aren’t slacking over here! Parents actually have to save all the time in case their kids get sick!

Now in China COVID cases rises again and death rate is higher than COVID here. U.S has stopped visa service in China, however another wave of more deadly Covid attack will arrive in U.S soil soon. Be careful!

Good. For those of us without children, we have gotten zero Covid emergency pay. Now maybe more money can be freed up for raises for everyone else who has been working just as hard.
