Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Anyone being evaluated by stack rankings now?

The performance expectation is no longer meeting certain metrics but comparing your performance against other peers. I thought this practice has been widely discredited because it destroys morale? Preparing for more RIF at Fiserv?

There are too many layers of management, and it’s hard to see the value they’re adding. Having multiple levels above a single manager as I see in my managers line 5 managers above them in there reporting line it feels excessive and unnecessary.
There also seem to be rhe same in other reporting lines, and a large portion of their time is spent in meeting on how to fix things within there lines. From my perspective, those meetings don’t lead to meaningful chang things continue to move slowly, and the same issues remain.
At the same time, the people doing the actual work are the ones carrying the load. We’re expected to deliver despite delays, lack of direction, and limited support and zero training or knowledge materials. it feels like the organization is over managed but under-executing. It would be worth seriously evaluating why all of these management layers are needed. Oh thats right so they can pat each other on the back and figure out how to let more of the workers go and who ever left can take on more of a workload and then let's not forget at review time they need improvement...

@OP
Managers control how they want to rate people. This is a great way to destroy a company. They rate people poorly based on who they like (mostly people who are inferior to them) to protect their jobs. There is a lack of integrity and lack of ownership at the management level

Moral has already been destroyed, so there is no penalty.

Finance has built massive workforce reductions into long range planning. 100 employees will be less than 35 employees after 3 years. It’s all called “AI Efficiency”.
