Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Why do we still need cuts?

Results seem to be great, so why are we still cutting people? If layoffs are happening while the numbers are good, it makes you wonder how bad things would get for employees if results actually started slipping.

@q2, what team did he lead? Like a lot of these new leaders: we don't know where they came from; what their actual accomplishments are; or why they are being promoted?

@j7 He used to be a good leader and seemed to genuinely care about people. Either he is a really good actor or those above him finally broke him down.

@j7 The Salem All-Hands was absolutely batshit crazy. They were obviously told to be extra energetic to try to boost Srini’s image, as he is a miserable failure. These so-called “leaders” then used that enthusiasm to talk about absolutely nothing and to silence any real employee concerns. They should not be trusted under any circumstances.

@gb Yes. Cut all the US workers, and outsource to Hyderabad where the cost per person is about 50% less than in the US. Problem is you'll have to do twice the work because the output is so awful.

Crazy how tone deaf these leaders are too! Yesterday's all hands Salim rudely dismissive of workforce concerns and telling workers to use AI or be replaced by someone who will. Doom Loop Rolls On.

@a5 Srini made 35.4m last year for being groomed to be CEO... so he made the average persons salary at T-mobile in like 3 hours

@OP

"why are we still cutting people?"

The money for the ever-increasing executive compensation packages has to come out of somewhere.
