But kept the H1B/OPT/visa holders.

@4p3 Cigna is a huge company. The people making the decisions on exactly who gets cut are far enough down on the org chart that some of them are still decent people.
Maybe not the best people, because those people were purged already, but people trying to find the balance between doing what Senior Leadership demands and behaving like decent human beings.
@4hc The sh---y Cigna leaders just need some indentured workers to exploit.
@4hc lol yeah right, cigna actually caring to let their workersget a green card or paperwork done..
There could be a few reasons for that. Many of them are bad.
There's the obvious negative ones, such as favoritism, racism, or visa holders more willing to go along with anything to keep their job (and avoid being deported).
One possibility though is that the HB1 visa holders will get the axe soon too, and the manager is trying to give them a bit more time to get their green card or other paperwork done.
If they're going to replace us all with offshore and visa holders then we should demand we get all of their holidays off too
@an why would they follow up with tech when they can just say tech worker from the very beginning... Theres more to tech than dev and engineering..
@an literally Google it. You must be behind on the times
My two cents: there’s no such team. “Tech workers” sounds more like troll bait than something an actual employee would say. Nobody on a real team talks about their coworkers that way. They’d say engineers, devs, teammates - maybe mention later that they work in tech. This reads fake as he-l.
@OP which team?
They kept Americans on mine but none that are leadership types
