I applied for a remote job here but was told it will actually be 4 days in office. Anyone have insight into how strict it is? Like is hours tracked

@28y I didnt leave the comment but I have been going to the office for 3 yrs now and leaving and it has never been a problem. I tell my direct reports "as long as your badge shows an entry twice a week all is good and you can read between the lines on that".
@sv IT can easily look up when you switched WiFi or internet connections. They would easily be able to track this. D-mb idea to swipe in and leave.
@OP I do not live far. I drive to the office swipe my badge and then go straight home.
It probably depends on the office and specific team. If there are others on your team in the office, then yes they'll obviously know when you're there and for how long. But as far as "badge swipes", at least in the Hopkins offices (9700/9800) they only know what time you swiped in. You don't swipe your badge on the way out so they have no way of knowing when you leave. But really, do you want to spend your day driving to an office, swiping your card, and then turning around and driving back home to work from there? If you're asking about working shorter days, they would be able to track how long you were active at your computer each day or week. A lot depends on your manager's trust in you, which as a new employee you wouldn't have earned. Your manager does receive a report of who on their team didn't badge in at least 4 times each week, so your name would appear on that report.
So a bait and switch job posting? Run… seriously …
@OP Its he-l here. Run!
Everything is tracked.
