I've seen higher-ups go all out to get their Poker buddies rehired even though they weren't stellar performers and usually cost us considerably in concessions.

What's the point in working your bottom off for a company that doesn't even seem to care about your basic needs?
Perhaps they just cut out the Middle Man (or Woman), & get out while they can?
