Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Medtronic Corp dev has to be the d-mbest group in the world

Is anyone fed up with the rampant stupidity of this group? Forget diligence because that would mean they would need to actually work but what loser approved cerevasc? That company is a scam and these mo--ns in corp dev are clueless who keep repeating the same old tricks again and again to drive the company into the ground

The worst business development team is in EP and CRM. Completely clueless about their own business so obviously can’t make any m&a decisions worth a salt. Look at the deals the EP division has done and doing and it explains it all. Affera got saved because of a few directors who knew what they were doing but even that would have been a write down. How these subpar humans make business decisions is beyond anyone with a rational brain

@113 didn’t you know they think they’re bankers? Bankers know more about our company than this group of garbage humans do

Geoff pretends he knows what to do with the group but he doesn’t. Geoff’s 2 seconds with the Covidien execution and his time spent fa----g at GE doesn’t make him an expert. The board should clean out this corp dev team and operating unit business development teams and hire deal execution experts not these brainless children running around with no knowledge of m&a or the sector

Business dev at the Portfolio level is no better. They don’t know our business, slow to execute & lacks collaboration skills to be successful at the business unit level. When will the diligence AI bot roll out??

@c2 this is kind of sh-t Elliott needs to see internally. The rampant incompetence of these leaders is really something to watch and then they’ll know why they will be losing money in this shithole company

@bn Dave Anderson is a master in clown class. Absolutely clueless when it comes to m&a let alone divestitures. He leaks deals to get attention from the street and show his importance when in reality the man is highly incompetent and makes corporate decisions with a startling lack of any operational intelligence

Dave Anderson, after he torched Neuro, was given the plum job, by Geoff, to spin off the diagnostics and monitoring buisness, corp acquisition and divestiture. HE HAD ONE JOB. After endless false starts, and his team tanking deals by leaking details, and then turning down the only decent offer they had, they ended up writing most of the buisness down to nothing and taking a huge "L". They had this wonderful story about how they would use all this cash to invest in high growth buisnsesses. Instead they took a huge loss. And of course, Friend of Geoff = Zero consequences.

God forbid Medtronic does more deals like scientia that have revenue and products that us reps can actually sell on the field. Who would have had that basic common sense

The only state that any of these corporate development employees from Medtronic can be employable is the state of MN. No one in their right mind will hire these cr-ppy corp dev employees that can barely add and subtract so they’re better off staying at this dumpster fire

When Cramer called this a dumpster fire he was right. 25 years later this is trailing at $80 and take into account the number of layoffs and restructurings in the last 25 years and the result is abysmal performance for both shareholders and employees. This is the downstream effect of what Chris cleary left behind and what the group continues to do

@a3 Chris eso is just thriving under the attention he never received he’s been a mo--n his whole life and will continue to be so we all know the consultants and bankers he’s cozying up to for his next job these absolute clusterfu-k deals are getting through corporate champions who are looking to jump ship or hunting for their next leadership gig so yes they are looking to get rich but they’re stupid because they could have made a lot more money by doing the right deals that don’t sink the rest of the organization into a hole

Not really stupid, but greedy. Someone or some people are going to get rich

This needs to be a dedicated thread to highlight how one group of absolute fools has destroyed the company over the last decade. This group is the most unethical and incompetent group within the organization no other corporate development team works the way this group does. Fire them all
