Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I have no motivation for anything more than the bare minimum

Moreover, sometimes I barely do even that minimum. I wonder if it's just me or are the rest of you having problems with motivation too?

Preach!! I have zero motivation to do anything more than the min and even that feels painstaking.

A co-worker, who had only been at the bank 1 year, was given a title promotion, took a six month leave and when they came back, the first week back they were promoted to B4. How the fck do you promote someone that wasn't even at the bank to do any work? After that, I stopped trying even a little.

👋🏾 me too. Quiet quitting at its finest. There are a handful of new hires that are more than excited to go the extra mile. I’m letting them take the lead and they are anxiously taking tasks off my plate. One of them was hired as a VP and his level of ignorance proves he is on the path to BofA Management.

I am tenured employee. I just do bare minimum now. I used to be a workaholic and work crazy hours. Now, just doing what I need to and hoping for a package. Giving folks a livable wage is great (i.e.. raising our minimum wage from $22 to $25) but the "middle class" salaried folks are paying for it by increase benefit costs, embarrassing raises and mediocre bonuses. I just don't care anymore. They have sucked the soul out of the hard workers for favor of Goldman Sach folks who are useless here.

I jumped on that bare minimum train a long time ago. I just can’t anymore. The metrics this bank places on phone agents on top of dealing with difficult people is appalling and I will be looking around for other options outside the bank.

I used to be really motivated but now I act my wage. It's hard to feel valued when I've been here 13 years and barely make more than the company's minimum wage

The issue rests with a new breed of incompetent disconnected managers who are only focused on their own careers and not on motivating you.

I have been here a while and see a lot of people don't care anymore about this company. The pay is shlit and they want you to do so much for nothing. They want you to do a lot of stuff here that is meaningless and just busy work. I am just basically using my sick days and personal time and just collecting a check. I will never go the extra mile for this shlithole bank. I am tired of seeing overpaid and uneducated leaders run this shlithole bank.

I agree the culture has changed from where employees were performance driven to disengagement. Much of that as a result of the extinction of large bonuses and double digit raise percentages. It does not make sense for an employee to work extra hard or long hours for an ROI that is less than if they simply took up being an Uber driver or a retail job on nights or the weekends. It does not serve the bank well either because now they need to hire contractors or extra FTE to produce the same work product. Producing less with more!

Yeah I have the same problem. Motivation has really taken a hit with so many unqualified, self serving, individuals getting promoted over those who work hard and sacrifice for the team. I want to remain highly motivated, but it's been a struggle.

I get consistently rated meets/meets and I get paid very well but I also do the bare minimum to not get fired, I let all requests run up to the SLA and I do my best to give people the run around.

Remember if you work twice as hard or twice as fast you don't get paid twice as much.
More importantly by being a blocker and dragging my feet I also give others a legitimate excuse to not do extra work. This is me doing my part in making this a great place to work!
