Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Stuck with no good options

I got my first offer after six months, but then I read about them and they have the exact same issues we do. There's no point in accepting it and losing my seniority for the same thing. What a depressing situation.

@s6 not exploring anything. Working for myself now. I always had a few side gigs going and it worked out well.

@k6 You weren’t added to the list solely because your compensation was too high—you were included because other options existed to handle your responsibilities at lower cost. Without details about your work or career, I hope you consider this while exploring other opportunities.

I was told I was put on the list because my comp was too high - due to seniority.

Explain to me what exactly seniority has to offer at Xerox? Vacation? That can be negotiated. Get the he-l out of there, that place is not healthy.

Yanno. It’s hilarious that one guy is getting a dividend from xerox and 12 people are waiting to leave because they are trying to retire. And the rest are scared to leave or don’t have the desire to look for another job until the last second. To watch these people give advice, is an entertaining experience. No doubt.

Short term thinking eh? Kinda like Xerox selling the rights to the mouse they created and found no useful purpose for it.

Suprise! You are going to lose (not loose) your seniority anyway. Short term thinking.

Yeah. You don’t wanna loose your seniority. Sure. Why certainly…
Twice nothing is still nothing.
These people would stab you in the cheek for a nickel. That’s what you’re dealing with here. I would think you would want to be as far away from this company as possible, as soon as possible.

at least you got an offer! (heck.. at least you got an interview!). been over a year here, multiple changes to the resume, and not even a single bite.
