The new strategy seems clear - scare us into quitting so they don't have to pay severance. Managers are allowed to treat people terribly and threaten us with firings but I've never seen anyone actually fired. Let them try. I'm not doing them any favors. If they want me out, they can pay me what I'm owed.

@1c3 Trust me you won't be mentoring my department and I'm not worried about you.
@1c3 Compassion goes a long way, and pride cometh before the fall. No one is safe in this labor market, so check your snobbery. Ok?
@163 don’t worry about me- I’ll be fine. Like I said, Manager or no Manager I’ll be mentoring your team. Do your job and everything will be just fine- AI or no AI, ok?
@zx you aren't mentoring my vp. I don't have a manager and trust me, I've seen other avps let go within the last 6 months. Never get too comfortable here.
@wx I think so. I’m a mentor to most new and existing managers- most likely including your manager, so I won’t be going anywhere soon.
@ty you better ask yourself does the company have your back. In layoffs middle management is always a target.
I always have my staffs back. But I will say I have fired a lot of people for poor productivity. None of them should have been surprised by my action. Don’t want any favors as OP says and I’m not trying to force my team out. However, if you don’t produce- you will have a problem with me. As the other poster has mentioned- I also don’t do lazy….
Seems like this site puts out bait posts like this where nothing of worth is mentioned. If this is truly a current employee, please stop VAGUEPOSTING
