Thread regarding Optum layoffs

It seems like the RIFs were wide across the organization but lower in numbers for June. Not sure if they will keep doing the 4th Thursday of the month for summer, but Oct will be big like always.

@e3 Some of this is the left hand not knowing what the right is doing organizationally. Expect more OGA cuts though, because for all of the flaws with the Optum AI strategy, the simplified, repetitive work being covered by OGA is going to be the easiest to streamline using various AI/LLM schemes.

@dm that's interesting. Half my dept was RIFd recently and they turned around and hired they same number utilizing OGA to replace them.

We were told RFIs impacting WTX, DFW, and Houston markets for case management

OWCA impacted this morning.

I'd expect emails to start landing in earnest over the next 90 minutes or so, if they haven't already. Some outliers might already be notified.

@OP the emails will start going out in the morning. I'm told OT and ORx are getting hit hard. time will tell of course and well wishes to those impacted.

It would also be helpful to know what time of day your layoff call is and how many people are on your call.
