Here is what I am thinking and I’d like to know if it even makes sense. What are your thoughts on if you apply for the VSP and you get approved, you were probably going to be laid off later. But if you don’t get approved, that means you’re needed and you probably won’t get laid off later. What do you all think? Wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking.
Many people are going to be laid off. I wouldn’t be surprised if 100% of VSP were approved unless you’re the only person in your dept then they would need you. There are major restructuring coming soon and many markets will be merged. Whoever doesn’t take the VSP hold on, because August layoffs are definitely happening and they will be significant.
@a9 you sound triggered… don’t know how someone else’s decision to leave would have anything to do with you. let people be.
And youve been applying for jobs ? Remote work is hard to come by as is. And when you and 30% of the company leave, youll all be each other’s competition as you apply for the same roles. Your $23k life raft will not last you a year of your jobless search
I applied for the VSP and whether or not they were already going to lay me off doesn’t concern me. I know I’m a high performer, I know my skill set and my value… to THEM I am Employee ID 123456 and I cost $105K.
my work will be redistributed to my team (and I’m sorry for doing that) or they will backfill my position and pay someone less. it is what it is.
if you apply and get rejected, it’s because you’re needed now. there is no telling what is on that 2027 roadmap.
I believe in Centene’s mission, but if this ship is about to sink, I’m getting on the lifeboat. not saying they’re going under, but it is going to be volatile when the business is at the mercy of the decisions made by this administration.
maybe a miracle will happen and they’ll be like oh… we shouldn’t have stripped healthcare away from vulnerable populations. but in the words of Michael Jackson, they don’t care about us.
Too naive to believe anyone is needed. Everyone can be replaced.
Exactly OP
