@g6 it also looks better to put off moving more jobs overseas after taking all the U.S. chips money.
Just accept that this is no longer a stable place to work and plan your finances accordingly. If TI is laying people off and cutting pay company wide while the company is profitable, I can only imagine what happens when the semiconductor cycle has a downturn and TI starts loosing money.
@kz This is bury your head in the sand thinking. As a ex-Tier, I can say that there is great talent in TI India and TI China -- the best are the same all over the world. TI India has a lot of churn and like any TI location, is political. The hiring bar is also set lower in India as the strategy is to hire en-masse and assume ~50% retention rate. Expect pressure such as this in any company in the developed world as eastern europe, china, taiwan, india, vietnam and phillipines rise.
@g6 It's unfortunate that we keep laying people off here to hire more there. I haven't had a single interaction with anyone working at TI in India that left me feeling like they had any degree of competency.
I've heard rumors of October. They probably won't do it when the interns are here
Troll post, but it is irrefutable that many positions are being moved to Bangalore.
Layoffs will come eventually, but we need to train the people in Bangalore first.
Is there any truth to this or is this another troll post?
