Ultimate Potential and Promotions

Is there still Ultimate Potential w/ new changes to S&D. Can it go down or up if I have Excellent / Outstanding for 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 years after I’m 40yrs @ CL 27 or 28.

What’s the new promotion guidelines?

@d8 this is true. even the good roles are given on a silver platter to people assigned with high potential. even if you ranked better than the high potential in recent years. the process is flawed. many learned this too late. run.

OP, don’t make the mistake of thinking ranking drives potential. It’s the other way around. The day will come in your early 40’s when they discuss your future and determine that the clock has run and there’s not enough time left for you to reach your potential. They will then push your ranking down accordingly to make room for younger HiPos and at the end of the ranking session they will assign you a lower potential. Once that decision is made, there is absolutely zero chance they will reconsider it. You will never again be given anything higher than a VG ranking no matter how well you perform.

Potential only goes down over the years. You will top out at 27 or 28, given recent trends.

If you are 27 at 40 you potential is probably 29. If you are a 28, you may have a 30+ potential. Either way, consinstent performance improves your chances reaching your potential and that's about it. Potential increases rarely happen.
