@a6 the security issue is probably anticipation for the AI bubble to burst. AI industry analysts are starting to speculate about it. If that happens the global economic impact could be immense - like when the dot-com bubble burst. Countries are preparing now. Hold on to your seats.

@OP Bp isn’t relocating its HQ to the U.S full stop. It’s a UK‑domiciled plc, headquartered in London, regulated under UK corporate law, and listed on the London Stock Exchange. That legal and financial infrastructure isn’t something a multinational just ‘moves’ across the Atlantic. And with U.S. labour and executive compensation already running significantly above global norms, the cost‑cutting pressure is heading toward the American side of the operation, not the UK so brace yourselves. A wholesale HQ shift simply isn’t on the table.

That will never happen. There is still animosity regarding the BP/Amoco merger. It never should have happened.

@a5 and then we summarily kicked you out. Tell me, how are the energy prices in the UK right now?

FYI Shell recently had a visit from MI5 and the meetings agenda was that the UK has escalated security issues and that top industry personnel need to prepare appropriately. The days of easy and fun England are almost over.
