Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

New email sent VSP

They extended the deadline from last thursday to wed the 12th at 12pm CST...what kind of BS is going on...

Last week, we shared that team members could withdraw their application by contacting the VSP inbox. If you are interested in withdrawing your application, you may do so during the opt-out window from Monday, July 6, through Wednesday, July 8, at 12 p.m. CT.

@a6 Or it means there was something illegal in the way they were planning to do it, so they had to adjust. Perhaps insufficient notice period.

This is untrue. I’m an active employee and we received no email about an extension.

Maybe allow additional time to withdraw, so they don't decline too many VSP requests
Then do involuntary layoffs without the additional weeks ( enhanced benefits). It will be a little cheaper for the company.

I am definitely NOT withdrawing! I'm ready to go!!! 30 years is enough. By the way. Why was I able to retire after 20 years with Health Net, but not Centene!?!?!

@a6

They are freaking out, trying to move the goalposts as fast as they can, due to realizing that they indeed do NOT want to be in a financial position of paying out everyone's VSP who applied for it!

Agree with you on them opening themselves up for even more lawsuits, and that it's not equitable to initially extend the VSP offer to all, but then only offer a "OK to recind your decision" ONLY to those who chose to take the VSP.

There are people who chose not to take the VSP initially who now would like to apply for it, if given a second opportunity to make their decision. That should be offered to everyone, not just the people who at first chose the VSP.

This is such a major sc--wup from leadership.
How does the board keep letting these dipsh!ts continue to fu*k up so severely...and they keep GOING with it too! Every week it something new, where they make a change to the policy/offer, but it only results in things getting WORSE!

It only means one thing, The response to VSP is overwhelming and they want people to withdraw. They may not have the funds for “enhanced” benefits for all who applied. They can deny applications, but that will cause legal issues and they will have unhappy employees. Notice they extended the timeline to withdraw but not the timeline to accept VSP. They have totally messed up.

The email specifically says that it was only sent to team members who applied for the VSP.

@a1 The email says it went to team member who applied for the VSP.
Last week (7/1), Tanya's email said that if people were on PTO, they could email the VSP inbox to withdraw their application within 24 hours of their return. No other parameters were given, as in a "email to withdraw by this date" deadline.
The email from this morning refers to that 7/1 email, but instead of emailing the VSP inbox, anyone who applied can go on the VSP website to withdraw their application until 12 pm CT on Wednesday, 7/8.
