Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Cameron Brady getting fired?

Someone posted that he may be getting fired. Is there any merit to that claim? I know most people think he should be fired but I’m curious if there is any merit to the claim that he will be fired

@jn anyone paying attention could see the warning signs. These clowns had a year of exposure to Worldpay and still charged straight into the wall.

@1k is right about the rot. From outside it was obvious. From inside it was punching us in the face.

Bready and his loyalist board pushed a BIS101 strategy: polish the GP tu-d with a mountain of Worldpay dung and pretend two damaged operations would become one dominant company.

There is STILL no coherent integration plan, modernization path, or evidence leadership understands the operation beneath the PowerPoints.

Bready is a textbook Trumpian narcissist and greater fool. He enters every room convinced hes the smartest person there, the board reinforces it, and he negotiates himself into a worse position.

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The charitable explanation is staggering incompetence. They ignored the debt, gutted staffing, decades of tech debt, operational rot, and infrastructure siloed like NORAD because they were fantasizing about cornering the market.

The speculative explanation is white shoes shining whiter shoes. Check the comp packages.

GP cant realistically shed Worldpay now unless some vulture-cap firm buys the wreckage to tear it back into its 2015 parts.

Without a board shakeup and C suite vaporization, GPs days are numbered.

Opinion, not advice. Stop your ESPP, short it hard, and set your strike prices around whether Bready and these fools finally deploy their golden parachutes.

Every single person involved in the buying and selling of Worldpay since before the FIS disaster should be brought into the open and held accountable under serious scrutiny. They should be made to contribute to a fund for the employees who have been paying the price for years of executive stupidity, arrogance, and what honestly looks a lot like fraud.

FIS buried itself under mountains of debt to acquire Worldpay in a deal so obviously reckless that even a child could have questioned it. Then they panicked and offloaded the wreck onto GTCR as if it were someone else’s problem.

GTCR came in acting like geniuses, but their entire strategy seems to revolve around finding the next buyer to pass their problems onto.

And yes, they found one: Global Payments. More specifically, Cameron Bready—driven by ego, greed, and an obsession with chasing some imagined victory. People warned him repeatedly, yet he pushed forward as if he knew better, buying something he clearly did not understand.

Now Global Payments is stuck with a mess it has no idea how to manage. Worldpay was already a broken, dysfunctional operation under FIS. FIS was deeply incompetent, but at least they occasionally sent people in to assess the damage and attempt fixes.

Global Payments did not even do that. They walked in blindly and hoped for the best.

The culture at the top is deeply flawed. VP-level leadership and above on both sides remain silent, pretending everything is fine while the situation continues to deteriorate. The technical debt is enormous, operational failures are widespread, and cutting costs indiscriminately will not solve anything—it will only damage what little still works.

Whether Bready is ultimately fired remains to be seen. But he has done more than enough to warrant it—and then some.

'cameron bready global payments ceo-to-employee pay ratio'

333:1

Cameron Bready’s 333:1 pay ratio is considered high when compared to broad stock market averages and his specific industry.

@av An activist investor, Elliott, did come after them last year (made national news..Google it) and only demanded they replace some board members. Maybe a call to Elliott would shake things up again and actually replace the incompetent C-suite with actual leaders!

Name another public company CEO that went to Oglethorpe College!? Every other company he has worked for except public accounting went bankrupt. What kind of Board votes a guy like this in as CEO. Oh to be complimented by the boy wonder, Josh, who has no previous public company experience. It’s the board that needs to be fired and management replaced. An activist hedge fund really needs to come in and wipe the slate clean.

The whole executive suite truthfully could be replaced and streamlined. The company has been run so poorly for so many years.
