From what I've seen, there has been a pattern of pursuing products and initiatives that are outside of our core business. There was the robotic vacuum venture, VR-related offerings, and high-end ECM solutions tied to IRIS, none of which appear to have delivered meaningful results.
Now the focus seems to be shifting toward fax integration, laptops, and managed IT services. While diversification can be important, I'm a Canon copier sales professional, and my livelihood depends on successfully selling copier and print solutions. That's where my expertise is and where I believe our strongest market position exists.
If my primary goal was to sell vacuum cleaners or laptops, I would have chosen a different industry or worked for a retailer like PC Ric7ard & $on.
