but does anyone ever see Kate J come right out and address the many layoffs over the past few weeks, or just continue to RIF more workers every month until she feels the time is right to sell off the remaining parts ?

No one wants to buy the remaining copper business. The chance of that happening disappeared when At&t bought up the FTTP from Lumen. The copper service will be shutdown before 2029.
