Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Talent review!?

We are being asked to do review. Is this a precursor for identifying people to put on layoff list? Looking for intel.

@qd I did not have scheduled or questionnaire created. What does it mean?

At least I didn't have to do a talent review on my employees who are getting RIFed next week. Sometime HR makes employees do this stuff even when they know they are being laid off. I can't my staff they are being laid off but I'm not assigning them more work they don't need any more stress before Thrusday.

@mt I got an email specifically saying a due date and the wording is very different from just a review. We are on this site for a reason. If you don’t like that reason then move your old ar-e off the site.

It’s mid-year review time. Standard at every organization out there.

This is done annually, it's not anything new.

@a2 Agreed! They made my manager complete those for their direct reports before they left after resigning.

Talent reviews are ongoing. Sure, we all need to update our career profile... skills, experiences, etc. that we have gained or want to gain... but the broader talent review is also an assessment of team members around their readiness for advancement, or to develop further in their current roles.

Or... you can continue the paranoid fever dreams... and by which you create the very conditions for you to be RIF'd or canned sooner than later.

Can we find out what our talent categories and ratings are?

Yes. I’ve seen this happen, then they also start pushing people to update their career profile. Red flag!

Yes. May not actually get read, but just the act of having done such a thing looks 'responsible'.

@OP Is that the same thing as employee experience pulse survey?

Yep. They did this to me shortly before a re org. Seeing who they want to keep who they can transfer or who is no longer serving them. 1000%.
