Kumar is a right example of those who came with H1B Visa there are many H1B working at WHQ mainly from India. Nobody in Ford will ask those H1B Visa holders to leave since they are protected by King Kumar, he is the one running the show, it is no Jimmy or Billy, it is King K

@qa H1B are supposed to be used for Specialized skills. Been 20 years in tech. Im yet to see a Specialized skill person with H1B or OPT visa.
This is the total abuse of the system and causing US citizens theirs jobs and families.

They are also fond of Bollywood, singing, and whatever gold they may have. Totally useless and a drain on whatever country they live in.

@10c lol

They would call into the office and say: "yes, we are fixing it" and then stand around waiting like you said. LMAO.

If you are unfamiliar with the Pakistani work ethic, watch the YouTube video below. If they were Indians, they would just sit around waiting for someone they could supervise.

I don't blame the people who latch onto the visas. It is a good opportunity for them. But I do blame the authorities who are supposed to limit those visas for essential work that US citizens can be found to do the work. Look on reddit for recruitinghell. So many citizens out of work in tech. DJT tried to fix it, but seems like no go. Bring over more. We are cooked.

@qa I cannot speak to the hiring quality at ford, but in the IT field this is completely untrue. And I mean this in the most sincere and possible way, the vast majority of them are not even average at the job. The only credit I can possibly give them is that they work hard, but what that actually means is that they just put more hours in to hopefully produce the same results as a native. Couple that with the indentured servitude nature of the visa, and you have a recipe for a slave/master relationship where the former is: "yes I can do that." And THAT is what can't be found domestically. Domestic native workers want to be independent and have a balanced life, and because of that they are looked over for the H1B.

I promise you, rendering web pages from data in a database is not a novel or hard to find skill. I can point to dozens of laid off domestic individuals who can do it as well as or better than their replacements.

Its labor arbitrage. Plain as day. A race to the bottom.

Just accept it and call it what it actually is.

I guess, It's safe to say none of you have ever tried to hire or been in a role to hire qualified tech professionals, if you did.. you would be surprised to know that there aren't many smart americans to do the tech job! It's a free market ppl..., if there are H1Bs it's because there's demand for the skillset and not enough supply. On the contrary, my wife is in Tech Sales and there's no shortage of americans in tech sales so, naturally they have no (minimal 1/100 maybe?) H1Bs in Sales.

Replace exactly half with engineers from Pakistan. They are willing to work hard, and are not as caste-sensitive. Their hard work ethic more than makes up for a less sophisticated education system in Pakistan vs. India.
