Is this a bad dream? Verizon seems to be stuck in an awful doom loop of layoffs with absolutely no off ramp to a better future. I never thought morale could keep sinking but here we go again

Yes, this the best incompetent executives do, kee the their pockets ready to fill and get rid of actual talent who runs the company and make it a HISTORY…once upon a time Verizon… and become study case for Business-School students.. RIP BuriZon..
This has been a quarterly process for years. Only difference is the size lately. The purchase of the old Frontier will drive reductions in duplicate functions. Not right but they will state good for business. Best of luck to all affected either way.

It's what made Circuit City so successful. They cut their way to profit by getting rid of all their most experienced, aka highest paid, employees. Look how great that worked for Circuit City.

@a3 so true. What goes up must come down. This is the circle of life, in corporate. We aren't the first giant to die and we won't be the last. It's a bummer, but it is what it is.

All of Dan’s strategies failed to work.. so I do not know if it’s the last resort to keep laying off people..
It's just the way it is. Nothing lasts forever...anywhere you have competitors you have to compete....Some'll win, some will lose
