Are you obliged to do handover after layoff tomorrow? I do not think I want to turn on my machine after that.
I am working on a project that is going live in next 2 weeks. We have some critical issues going on right now.

@af best of luck… I have friends that have been impacted here and other companies and they’ve been searching 6+ months. Some have landed on their feet, but it took a long time
@ac If that happened to me, I would train my replacement on updating resumes, applying for jobs, and taking advantage of the available online training :-)
@ae The severance agreement protects Verizon from being sued by the laid off employee for any reason whatsoever. For that reason, I seriously doubt they would withhold payment as long as you signed your severance agreement. Withholding payment would open the door to lawsuits.
@OP I got laid off in November, I didn't touch my computer except to get my personal information like tax forms and to message colleagues. If you say no, what are they going to do? Fire you?? -- and if you are unfortunate enough to get hit this round, be prepared for a hellish job market. I'm going on 8 months, still no job.
@ab during the Nov layoff I heard they could withhold your severance if you didn't complete your "obligations" but I don't know if that is accurate.
Depends on your manager. Mine asked me to train my replacement. I was forced to give some KT off to them. My production access was not cut. Do as little as possible if asked.
@OP There’s no obligation per se. Any half decent boss will not require you to do any work after they’ve laid you off but I’ve heard of some horrible bosses who do.
If they ask you to work and you respectfully decline, they have no leverage. What are they going to do? Fire you?
Your phone and laptop access will become limited and you will not be expected to continue working on company business.
