Cramer loves BB. He seems to imply that his predecessor had done such a horrible job. and he is glad that BB has brought back the Old3M-Innovation. Well done BB!

@199 I'll believe it when I see ANYTHING new.

The big things we're pushing at the 3M Open are adhesive tapes for airplanes (we've had this stuff for decades), reflective films (again, an old product), and automotive binding and surface prep materials (another long-in-the-tooth tech).

I wouldn't call that "innovation".

The only thing we didn't just have lying around since the 80s is the AI chatbot.

@199 Outsourcing and buying off the shelf products and rebranding is hardly innovation.

Go see the Jim Cramer one-on-one with BB. Super convinced that 3M is back on Innovation! Well done BB!

@11z BB hasn't done anything to produce results.

The financial shell games he's playing don't make a company successful.

@eb The Microsoft announcement was pretty clear about talking about one specific product, for Expanded Beam Optic interconnects and how it will be used in the partnership for MS data centers. Not sure it implies 3M will be doing anything else "digital" or AI related...

There was a interview video shared by the new ESC president about 3M innovation. Gosh, they are still talking about sandpaper, post it notes. Comm'on... those are dinosaurs already.

@dv I agree…. they only did that to offset what’s sure to be bad news and make it sound like things are going great. Microsoft thing seems fluffy stuff anyway as the idea we are doing anything with digital and ai is a total joke. Not a single leader in the company that knows a thing about digital and ai starting with BB himself.

@e9 is there really a project marshmallow or is that a joke? Seems there are tons of new project code names every time we turn around.

My guess is that performance was bleak and they announced the Microsoft deal to save a little face with Wallstreet.
But what do I know, they got rid anyone who was capable of peering into the crystal ball years ago.

This is a d-mb question. Do you really think you will get a real answer by anyone who knows anything?

Is this the reason 3M stock is rising? Is the EBO real? If so, it took 20 years for them to develop… manuf is iffy is what people say. They seem to talk about acoustic panels in airbus- that is an old product …

Does it matter? They will respond with more layoffs independent if how the company performs...
