Plano is exactly what the name says it is “plain-oh” it’s copy paste cookie cutter he-l for homes and 90% of it is filled with Indians. Nobody in their life has ever said the words “I want to move to Plano”. Plenty of people desire moves to places like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago. Never once has it been Plano. What a mistake!

Thanks to AT&T’s relocation policy, I’ll soon be packing up my life and heading to Plano, Texas. Because when destiny calls, sometimes it sounds suspiciously like a corporate relocation package.

The more I hear about Plano, the more I’m told I should be excited. I’m assured it has everything: great restaurants, beautiful parks, endless shopping, a booming business community, and just the right amount of carefully planned suburban perfection. Some even say it has “character,” which is a bold claim for a city where the landscaping appears to have been approved by committee.

I’ll definitely miss the people, places, and routines I’m leaving behind. But who could pass up the chance to experience the thrill of discovering which identical-looking shopping center has the best tacos?

I’m looking forward to continuing my career at AT&T, proving that “home is where the company transfers you” can, in fact, be a lifestyle. Until then, there are boxes to pack, moving checklists to ignore, and countless reminders that Plano was recently ranked highly on yet another “Best Places to Live” list—because nothing says adventure like a city that’s consistently described as “very nice.”

So yes, Plano feels like exactly where I’m supposed to be. Or at least where my mailing address is about to be. Either way, I can’t wait… probably.
