Upcoming role changes and AI agents (which seem promising so far), including mandatory check-ins, are all on the horizon. What's everyone's consensus on this? 🤔

Mandatory check-ins are super annoying for people actually DOING a tech job.
But they will be useful for catching unqualified nontechnical "managers" doing literally nothing all day, every day. At the golf course, ba----g the assistant, at a paid-for expensed lunch with Barbie from payroll.
More like mandatory choke-ins
We will still need 27 layers of management to oversee 27 agents ✌🏼
Eye woks 2 hr in the days and not one ever is even the knowed.
Honestly, the way things are going, I can't see anything good in Cisco's future.
I've always believed that customers didn't buy Cisco because the hardware was the best, they bought Cisco because of support and services. (Yeah, I joined Cisco in the Joe Pinto / CA years) But look at where we are now. TAC had already become a shadow of what it used to be, and somehow they found a way to make it even worse. Now a standard TAC contract will only get you the useless bot, and the only way to speak to a human is to pay for what used to be HTTS. Even that hasn't escaped the enshitification process: HTEC engineers will no longer be dedicated to customer accounts, so continuity and customer intimacy are being sacrificed in the name of margins.
Meanwhile, CX/PS is being pushed to deliver everything with AI. Of course, customers will still be charged the same, but Cisco's margins will be higher. That's all Mark and Liz seem to care about: cutting costs to inflate margins.
I'm sure the financials will look great for a couple of years. But eventually customers will realize the state Cisco is in. By then, the damage will already be done. You can't rebuild decades of trust and expertise overnight, and I don't see any path back from what this leadership team has dismantled.
So why shouldn't I just walk away with a severance package? I'm exhausted by all of this. And now we have mandatory AI-enhanced check-ins? Give me a break.
It’s funny I actually think the AI updates might be better than my human manager. Bro doesn’t do anything. Can’t even read Webex or respond to people.
@cg it's not severance it's a separation package ;)
The weekly 'mandatory' check-ins, whether they're on Team Space or the new AI Coach that's being rolled out, are a complete waste of time. My VP never reads them or responds to them, so why bother?
What’s the layoff package ?
Here is a thought for you...Cisco did this with Z-E-R-0 consideration for your chosen career path. Not even a "hey.. we have the oppertunity for you.." yeah this place can just eat sh-t.
@a9 I had no idea. Thats some interesting insight
So that's how I can finally get my severance package!
Id say its just bullsh-t same as weekly checkins only now AI will be more integrated. They want to drag everyone kicking and screaming into new AI tools and monitor your every action even closer than they are already. If youre unable to write yourself glowing weekly resume bullets in the new tool you will find yourself phased out. I wont be wasting much thought on it since whatever happens will anyway eventually and I could care less. Being LR'd here would have many silver linings and life will go on.
Where and when were these comming changes mentioned?
are they just replaying other org's playbook? This is such an IBM, Amazon move enjoy!
There’s also a project about workforce activation designed to track employee AI usage and leverage analytics to determine promotions, retentions, and layoff. It fu--ing su-ks.
