So assuming the Union Eisp will be announced soon .The summer manager riff Is over .So hopefully it’s an enhanced buyout to everyone who wants out .This is possible it could be after September riff scheduled.I just don’t understand how the management continues to operate as if the whole company is not just smoke & mirrors !!!As if the CEO actually cares about the direct reports doing the dirty work like a band of executioners!!Pretty sure the associates that are mostly union have been taking more abuse from the same managers who fear for their Jobs for years .Lets face it from gps tracking to time questioning .When most associates actually have done nothing wrong along with have given no abuse to the management.Pretty sure if I was management I would just track on thru my day as if I saw nothing .Crazy how some managers still go after associates inside and outside for no reason as if the corporation cares about them till the next riff.

@c9 that's why im leaving at the end of the contract..I will be 53 and won't think about this place
@c6 That will show em! Never retire. One thing every retiree I know has said, “ I should have left earlier”.
Pay me right to leave or I stay to the end. No matter to me. I get paid to show up. And I show up every day.
Package inbound September. In my garage 5 people retired July 1st before GATT rate went up last week. If over 30yrs it was a $30,000 hit to lumpsum.
100k is nothing these days
People were making 100k 40 years ago at ny tel
I'm going to stick it out until I get 5 years salary to leave.
There is going to be an eisp in the mail late July early August, who or how many I do not know, also no "bridge to medicare" but there may be 6 months of paid medical coverage but that is it.
My personal opinion is that if there's no EISP, or even an EISP without some kind of financial help until Medicare age, I think most pre Medicare age union employees will just take another four years salary.
@bv the comment was about people who are ready to retire but are waiting on a package that may or may not come. People obviously shouldn’t retire until they’re ready to and that their choice but if you WANT to retire and you CAN afford retire then it’s stupid to wait for something that isn’t guaranteed or owed to you and that’s my opinion and I can share it here along with everyone else’s opinions
@bv if you are posting on here about it, stop complaining if someone responds to the post
@bn I have nothing to whine about but it does make me angry when some ahole gets on here and criticizes or tries to belittle in any way a worker who has to weigh out his or her options when it comes to retiring. A lot of things come into play wether it’s a gat rate change or increasing medical payments or number of years til Medicare, plus personal situations. People have to choose what’s best for their families. if someone thinks it’s best to wait, then that’s what they should do. If someone just leaves, so be it. But again, it’s none of your business
@bh Pretty sure it’s still New York Telephone.
@bm So you are whining about what someone got 10 years ago? That’s the way it goes. Good luck watching the days pass you by. Hope you get the mystical offer. And you sound pretty angry about it
@bk um that’s 6% matching, but yeah maybe they do think they’re entitled to more since they are well aware of what their colleagues retires with 3-10 years ago when the gat and pbgc rates were so much better and the medical didn’t exceed the caps. So mind your own fu--ing business
@bj it’s so stupid, they already have a pension and optional 401k w three percent matching plus they’ve been making six figures fo at least 10-15 years. And they think they’re entitled to more
@bb I know people that have been wanting to retire but have been waiting 3 years for an offer. Pretty sad, but maybe you wait long enough something will happen.
@bg My gosh, I can’t believe someone is here since it’s been NY telephone! Keep waiting for that offer
@aj or New York Telephone
@am From his day 1, Dan has been talking ai and reducing the work force, and largely has been living up to his word. I will not be that scmuck that leaves today and the package is offered September or November. I would kick myself for the rest of my life if I missed out on 100k. I will wait for November, next year, the end of the contract…. I’m not leaving without it.
@ar True. The pbgc rate which is used for management pension calcs was 0% when I retired in 2020. Made that lump sum very attractive.
@aq what state/area are you?
With the Gatt rate being so high the lump sum is so low that people should try to hold out if they can, although high interest rates may be the norm for the next year at least .
The company is saving at least 250K over people who left during covid.
According to my supervisor it will be coming out in August and off payroll by end of September, they asked who is interested.
@aj Most of you guys will keep waiting for an offer that never comes. Then your retirement years slip by by.
@ac Said the fake “manager”. Why should union associates not want a package / severance / eisp when they retire ? On average we have put in decades more time at Verizon then most Johnny come lately management. Most of us were here when the company was Bell Atlantic or NYNEX or GTE .
pay for unused vac days or pay me to do menial labor or nothing all day. Dan, choice is yours. On being a 1st level supervisor,That has to be one of the worse jobs to have in this company. It used to be something to aspire to. You work 25 and take the promotion for a bump in pension. Bosses back then knew their stuff and really were part of the team. Today they serve as the bridge between upper management and the workforce and get it hard from both sides.Its a very demanding role right now regardless of what people think. especially with little workforce and operations still operate 24x7 365. I go easy on my boss as Im the one with now pressure or stress.
@OP I guess this is our daily union begging for an offer post!
My best guess would be near the end of the year. dan isn't going to want to pay for unused vacation time. The take may not be as good with the pesky pre medicaid medical cost being so high.
My best guess of course. Anything could happen though.
