I’m currently on maternity leave. My husband got a new job and I have the option to no longer work. Being a stay at home mom has been a dream of mine. If I don’t come back at the end of my leave do I need to pay back my leave? Is there a period I need to return to work to avoid that?

I was in the same situation 4 years ago - no need to return. Parental leave is an employee benefit - if you qualify, then it's already accrued.
Come back for a week or 2 then hand in notice. Dont risk having to pay them back.
You should come back and try to get laid off, go all George Costanza. Totally game the system and quiet quit till they catch on.
I would highly recommend coming back for at least a couple days to a week. Knowing this firm, they will probably try to get you to pay back your maternity leave.
@OP always do what’s right for you and your family. Many blessings to you, your baby, and your husband. 🙏🙏🙏
