@j9 You are obviously not aware that the bank is planning to spend $10's of millions in capex funds next year to build out new branches in strategic locations. Branch banking is a tool to access customers and then implement tactics to expand the customer relationship by introducing new products and services. Think of branch banking as shifting away from transaction processing and towards business development and client retention and expansion efforts as a way of strategically growing. Will it work? Who knows but that's what banks do these days.
@k0 Have the Small Business Bankers report to Branch Banking District Managers. They can have still have their focus on only business banking and we can rid ourselves of SBS management that have not produced results.
@dm fascinating because last I checked branches were short staffed and way under developed in the business area. No one has time, but let’s give it back to them so we can save money by firing SBS who do close business successfully. You know, because branches won’t be paid anymore for working another job. It’s the way of the world at U.S. bank.
Branch banking will be eliminated within the next five years and neither role will matter. Would find another career path if in the branch banking or SBS world.
Does H.K. do anything other than wonder around looking busy? No wonder two of her direct reports left for other banks in the last few months, she can’t LEAD!
Finally something we can all agree on. Give it back to the branches and get rid of the SBSs who can’t close a lick of business
H.K. needs to go and small business banking needs to be absorbed under the Branch Banking leadership. Straight up dumpster fire since day one.
