Just don’t quit and let the b@stards win! Be ready for your next step but make them lay you off and pay the severance.
@mx what are you talking about?? Schwab stock is close to all time high. We'll see in a few hours with earnings tho
The Schwab stock is sinking. When that happens, there is usually a big layoff. The market likes big layoffs!
Not AC. January, March, July and October. There were two big October ones more recently. July was over 20 years ago. Best to say there’s no pattern or logic. And that companies laying off should be condemned for failure to hire appropriately and move existing talent into needed roles while maintaining fresh talent to cover retirements.
@ac Wasn't there a big layoff in September 2019?
No one is safe at Schwab! Read that very carefully. NO ONE is safe at Schwab!
If you need job security, Schwab is NOT the place for you!
Doing a good job or not does not matter, when entire departments are wiped out.
Historically we use October for large layoffs. Can't think of a September round happening ever. Small ones will continue quarterly.
This has been said countless times. Plan for every single day to be your last.
Read that again.
And again.
That means don't leave personal items in the office. Don't assume you will be able to say goodbye or pull contact information and other records you might want. Don't believe you will even get a severance.
Have savings ready. Have a network ready. Have your CV and supporting materials ready.
And never, ever hint that you are looking, intend to leave or have another offer. To anyone. Ever.
