@e6, sure because everything becomes corrupt eventually. Union members lose their say to the upper echelon just like voters in a republic or like the lower branches in a company hierarchy. The decay starts at the top. The cause is forever increasing moral entropy. That decay must be constantly fought, like mold in a bathroom. There are ways, like term limits, to abate and control the decay but vigilance is key. Just because that rot never dies does not mean it's not worth it to try.
"The only thing a labor union is going to get you is someone else taking a big chunk of your paycheck. Your job won't be any more secure."
If the unions get too powerful, then they become problems, but the pendulum will take a while to swing that way.
labor unions are great at making squeaking sounds. squeaky wheels get the grease.
when's the last time you got a pay raise that kept up with inflation? never mind all the
extra work and expectations we are asked to cover for the ppl they laid off and unrealistic
project deadlines.
since most ppl at work are too scared to speak up and mgmt has taken that to mean no one is complaining, having unions take up grievances might not be a bad thing.
@d9 go talk with the united auto workers and find out how many of their jobs are done outside the US now. Core jobs like welding and painting are now done by machines and the results are far superior. Ask them is there have been any layoffs

Y'all joke about it but unionization of technical workers is key to the underclass regaining some semblance of balance against the runaway, unfettered, anti-competitive politico-business structure that has developed unabated for the last 50 years.
C'mon, people, get your heads out of your posteriors, grow some gonads, and stand up for yourselves!
Google workers unionizing
...because they are entitled to guaranteed, high paying tech work.
Btw, I didn't realize that petition was actually the same as "unionizing".
ya we are implementing face scan
