As I was browsing through LinkedIn today I couldn’t help but noticing how many P66 employees have what appear to be just made up positions. These are not necessarily highly paid positions but it does seem certain people are being “taken care of”.
In too many cases it not what you know or what you can do but rather what connections you have.
This is happening while Go-Go and Tractor Man are laying off legitimately good employees.

Truly astounding how many rounds of layoffs there have been over the past few years and yet instead of doing the hard work and terminating poor performers or eliminating positions that are completely useless, management fired the good ones and gave retirement packages to people about to retire anyway and called it a “transformation”. If I had a dollar for the number of wasted opportunities…
6 Vice Presidents in HR earning $1.1-1.5MM per year
an EVP of HR (!?) earning $3-4MM
VP of total rewards with 40+ employees and contractors
VP of HR Strategy with 20+ employees
VP of Talent Management and Learning and Development with ~100 employees but 2-3 direct reports, with one managing 90% of them
VP of Continuous Improvement with just 3 direct reports and no real work remaining
VP of AI with an army but no results
VP of IR earning 25-50% more than competitors
More than 150 employees in finance reporting to VP of Finance to manage the complexity from the failed SAP implementation and sunsetting of standard trading software for SAP
3 SVPs in commercial earning $2-3MM AND an EVP earning $7MM
Especially those with IT roles, people calling themselves CIO and CTO...
E.g. comms, HR, corporate affairs (the group, not Saucy CFO and Son7a). That’s another issue.
