Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Who's hiring?

I've been trying to get ahead of things by sending out some feelers, and all I've managed to do is make myself anxious and depressed. Nobody seems to be hiring, and those who are keep making lowball offers. Is anybody hiring right now who actually knows how to recognize the value of potential employees?

Finding employment is a full time job and it took me several months of serious looking. If the rate is important to you, you might just need to use these rounds of lowball offers as practice.

I am finding the most important number is the total compensation, as it seems that companies are moving toward higher bonuses and profit sharing. What seems to be a low ball offer in a less expensive geographic location, may actually be a better deal than a one in a more expensive one like California.

There are many hardware and AI companies who are looking for people with EDA knowledge. It may require broadening your search to include job descriptions that you may find less attractive.
