Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Something has to change

Whenever someone leaves the team, the first question is never "how do we replace this person?" It's "who can take over their responsibilities?" Before long, their entire workload gets spread across everyone else, and we're expected to keep everything running like nothing happened. The problem is that this keeps happening over and over, and the team is already exhausted. People are working longer hours just to keep up, but there doesn't seem to be any urgency from management to address the staffing issue. I honestly don't know what the breaking point is supposed to be before someone realizes we need more people if we're to keep going.

A friend in IFS said RA's org is way understaffed for the current work at DV and is hiring like crazy for a bunch of avionics jobs. Something about US persons only because of the regulations. A quick look at the open req's on the careers page shows dozens of open jobs under IFS with that requirement.

These companies have no desire to invest in existing businesses, there will be more M&A instead. It’s the classic PE-backed playbook.

Don’t forget “can we backfill from a low cost location?” being treated as the best possible scenario.

@OP It's a mindset that is pretty ingrained in culture by now, and the systems and processes we've built from or around this culture make it difficult to backtrack or change. I think we are trying to patch a leak when we are already underwater.
