Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Sad state of affairs

I look around and it seems like nobody cares about the state of our stores. It's pretty depressing.

It truly is embarrassing ...no help on the floor and the store looking like a messy thrift store. RTW looks like a hurricane came through and the associates on the floor as well as the managers and captains ignoring it all.

My store is just as bad. The air conditioning doesn't work. Customers complain about it all the time LIKE I CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Leaks all over the place. My stores carpets are never vacuumed because the STAFF WHO DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH AND ARE EXTREMELY LAZY DON'T CARE . ITS EMBARRASSING

Hard to find experienced Retail Professionals anymore. And if you do...the Company is so inconsistent and ridiculous that they leave the industry altogether. Pride isnt the Macys Culture.

If you really want to see a store that is in a sad state, you should visit the Macy's in Columbia, SC. You arrive to a gravel parking lot with garbage strewn everywhere, dirty diapers and fast food bags rolling like tumbleweeds blowing in the wind. Stepping inside the store is like going back in time with fixtures, paint, and flooring from the 70's that haven't been updated and are dirty and dingy.

The mall is dead and there are shootings and crime, making it feel unsafe and simply unlike any Macy's store you've ever visited. It's like neglect and incompetence came together and decided to open a Macy's location. It's difficult to understand why this site hasn't made the closing list.

If you're in the area and can visit the location, you should do so just for the experience, it's sureal.

@ac sad coincidence that your initials for this post are AC. My store has all compressors fix3d and it's still hot upstairs.

At my store, for the 3rd time since May, the air conditioning is out again in most of the store.
