The once proud data protection division is a shell of what it was and is mostly made up of the hangers on being replaced with the ngsa graduates who don't know any better and just want to get out to the field to them half your pay is the dream job and a massive raise. Many of the leaders are protected . Bainenl should go sniffing around there lots of dead wood and useless dead weight that if you fired the Monday hardly anyone one notice. Sad but true.

@rc Correct. That's because we have the same duumb asss leadership like David N and his clown car show running storage into the ground. They know nothing about the technologies they are managing. DD is half dead and PPDM was never alive to begin with. Steaming pile of horse shiit customers say.
@r9 the part about data domain being a dinosaur is not d-mb it's true. SRP products are basic no one of any consequence runs PPDM, prove me wrong. Dell has all but slid entirely out of the gartner MQ leader quad and half the dd market share has eroded over the last 10 years. That dd share didn't remorph into ddve in the cloud . Love how marketing sum totals all the logical data comes and says dell protects exabytes of data. Image cohesity added up all the logical copies of data in nbu catalogs? Silly Dell that's why you don't get invited to the table to discuss.

@je Data Domain is a dinosaur in maintenance mode, desperately trying to remain relevant with legacy technology. Those who have moved to the cloud don't want or need deduplication. Cloud storage is far cheaper, more secure, and much more accessible. Dell missed the boat on cloud storage by a mile.
Data Domain is still the best. PPDM is doing rather well. PP Backup Services(Druva) is awesome and the HYCU partnership kicks a-s.
