Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

What is Mission Simplify?

Serious question because I’ve been on STD for a while and haven’t been updated on this. I’ve read so much on this forum and feel like I need to know what I’m going back to since no one on my team has reached out. I did get the first email about being eligible for the VSP but haven’t gotten any other communication for anything else.

Mission Simplify is a bunch of projects to help reduce the costs Centene has to pay. So for one they are looking for ways to reduce people on the team by using automation solutions. For another they are looking for ways to reduce claim review by fixing system issues upstream. And for another reducing instances that cause provider abrasion and interest. A lot of work on fixing broken processes as well as booting people out when there are too many people doing a task that can be completed by one person.

@ag which is why they're trying to see how many people the can let go and still run a company. They dont want to lay off a ton of people bc of AI, but we've seen with many companies, AI can never get things right/correct, and have to hire people back. I mean for UM, the AI is never processing authorizations correctly. Its approving things it shouldn't be, attaching new faxes to older authorizations etc etc.

Everything we do has been overcomplicated and overarchitected. It's ridiculous that we can't even get the simplest things right. We've got too many competing solutions that do that same thing. It's time to chop wood.

Make the operation of the company simpler with less humans and more integrated AI.

@OP There was a few emails after the initial one. The first was sent extending the deadline to actually cancel if you wanted to change your mind. After that the other was about a possible staggering end date which according to this forum some got and some didn’t. I received one about picking the possible month release date of Sept or Dec and some months into 2027. I believe each department is handling things differently as far as release month. I hope this helps
