Managed services longest tenured performance tuning expert let go and a MS manager. Great customer facing people vanishing. Great job.
It’s sad and depressing. They’ll be another round in Oct or November like it’s always been.
What a sh-t show! After today all I can say is good luck trying to save this sinking ship.
@cc Well to meet with customers you need to have customers. That is the problem at Teradata. They have no customers.
@aw To drive value, engineering would actually have to meet the customer and understand what features that are needed by the people who pay their wages. Alas, engineering just sit in the cubicles following trends, never meeting customers and by the time they bring it to market, it's already been on the shelves by the competitors for years. SM will try the cheesy grin and spin it as new AI, but really its just more of the legacy rubbish that no one in the market is buying
@a6 are you effing kidding me? Engineering was hit. They low hanging fruits keep getting retained bc they sre cheap. People with deep knowledge and skill were cut today. You have no clue. Just stay in your bubble. They will pop it soon enough and people will talk cr-p about you.
@aa You're delusional. You must be in management.
@aw "Get your hand out of the sand and smell the coffee" may be the funniest thing I've read today. Bravo, sheer perfection, no notes. You are exactly the genius that Teradata needs right about now. Bring that thinking to project 2027.
@aw And engineering is doing such a wonderful job too! That’s why Teradata has rocketed ahead of the competition. Snowflake, Google and Amazon have just about given up pitching their solutions when they know Super-engineer has been working his magic at Teradata. Can’t wait for the results in August so we can see the proof of super-engineer is the only productive employee here. Super-engineer will save us all!
@av tech sales are not a valuable team little bro. Get your hand out of the sand and smell the coffee they don't drive value. It's engineering that drives value
Tech sales in APJ impacted. The Texans post the other day about growing the APJ business seems to be a case of wishful thinking. Under his watch staffing numbers have decreased and as a result revenue has declined significantly
@ap name any valuable engineering department that was impacted in the USA buddy. I'll wait
Multiple engineering dept got hit.
@aa what a loser. 😂
Bootlickers gotta lick!
@aa Stock closed under 30 so apparently you aren’t doing your job as well as you say. Butt-kissers always last longer but eventually get it, buddy.
@ab well we weren't hit. I'm just saying it was safe
@a8 Shouldn't be, as they have glaring holes in the solution. The entire BAR program is broken architecture. On-prem, Cloud, Hybrid... disjointed, incomplete by today's cyber resilience NIST standards.
@a9 if that makes you feel better you can keep saying that buddy. I'll be here till I want to quit, I deliver my stuff. The people cut today didn't
@a6 Your time will come.
BCM/Unity are safe
@a5 I agree these were incredibly low hanging fruits that were hit today. People who don't drive much value at all and were simply collecting a paycheck. No engineering hit
Won’t even be missed. They were just hanging around until a RIF.
Valuable U.S. based employees with a wealth of knowledge and customer relationships.
SQLES Services.
