Why, as a leader in the field, am I now having to do the work of this team? The math is strange - I generate revenue, the firm allocates my revenue for this home office work yet I’m the one doing their work. From what I hear - the GP running it is inadequate and the directors are incompetent and have created a toxic environment where their staff left their area leaving us to do their roles. How are they still employed?

@ht I feel like they only listen to the FA if they are a level 10 and know a GP high up the ladder. There is a reason why we had just shy of 1500 FAs walk out the door last year.
Story of the whole home office. We have more people “planning” than actual people doing work, and we hire incompetent GPs. I feel for you, as a HO employee, I wish were better, but ultimately the field has to make enough noise about it that it changes.
The diamond team is yes another laughable group. Look at the org charts of the number of people in this area. More process creators and work watchers. What we need is more people to do the work. Not more people to make reporting templates and other cr-p that distracts from doing the work. Another example of form over function
The diamond dogs at it again. I thought we were trying to make this place more efficient with Enterprise Reimagined. How do we spin up a team called the Diamond Dogs and take this place seriously?
@em Do tell! What is the diamond team for those of us not in the know?
@e8 I hope this is satire because the diamond team is just a laughing cause.
@dq the Diamond team has it under control. We need more of these roles in house to make up for the shortcomings of all of our external consultants.
Try being in the HQ and seeing the strategy area keep posting open roles meanwhile, the areas building, creating and doing work that directly impacts client and branches can not get any new people. Point of reference, they all had to cut headcount during reimagined. The strategy area is ballooning, marketing area is ballooning and everyone else is shrinking and moving work to India. Go figure
Slight hijacking here. I talk with FAs all day. I hear about the pain points on a variety of topics. I often don't have the authority to help. Even if I escalate the problem. It fizzles out somewhere. With Summer Regionals and TAPs going on. FAs need to hold these GPs/ ELT accountable. I know you all do, but I generally hear that the GPs just smile and say we will work on it instead of trying to come up with common sense solutions. So as the profit centers who don't need to take on this work. You all gotta hold them to the fire. I hear so many FAs get to speak with DC at these functions. Hold him to it. He's gonna run this place next. So if he is allowed to just skate by now, just be ready in a few years.
If FAs had to do a rotation throughout the HQ for like an audit of where a third of comp goes. You all would be appalled at the disorganization of middle/upper management and at the inequality of the associates who you actual speak with to obtain help versus someone who doesn't even interact with a branch.
@a2 I think you and OP are talking about 2 different departments.
We are horrible at strategy yet many of our departments spend 80% of their time meeting about strategy. Go figure!
I’ve experienced the exact same thing. All of Strategic Advisory should be Reimagined, yet they were the ones behind project Reimagined. We put the most incompetent people in charge of strategy :/
