Teamworks: I don't think senior executives are on the same page

In a previous town hall, the senior executive who will not be named listened to the frustration of senior directors (plural) under him, as well as chat entries of attendees, on Teamworks which made them lose valuable talent.

The feedback is in unison: Teamworks is not worth the negative impact to employee's welfare and retention. In the end, this senior executive said "Don't worry about teamworks. So long as we don't see an average of five hours of work per day, it's fine."

Well his other cohort, another senior executive, has been going around in staff meetings pressuring managers to get tighter on Teamworks or else they themselves will get in trouble.

Same company (Hughes), two senior executives, two different perspectives on Teamworks.

@k2 Yep! Got let go at EXM at 9am today. It’s a blessing in disguise. Why would anyone want to stay there since they can’t build anything. Most of the factory personnel were fired. If I was still one of the few still standing, I’d be sending out my resume.

It’s about 400 across the whole company. Management did not select who is getting laid off. They got a list of names from the bankruptcy consultants, they didn’t even know about this until last night. About 30-40 was just let go from EXM

We're cooked. EXM for me. I can't say what department because there's not many of us. I probably shouldn't have stayed around so long at a failing company. Honestly if this wasn't inevitable after the dish merger, it definitely was after the spectrum sale and ki-ling hughesnet

@h3 I don't see how they could be anything other than what we think they are. No actual meeting set up, no forward permissions, no one on the To: line.

@gv people started receiving them. It was sent out at 9:23 in the evening while people were tucking in their children to bed. If these emails are what I think they are, this is about as mean spirited and inappropriate as it gets.

I think the sadistic senior executives at Hughes and other top management uses Teamworks to get their giggles on the insatiable urge to micromanage and control employees, even though EchoStar isn’t really asking them to.

Dish and the rest Colorado employees do not harass or stress people out over these Teamworks thing. Managers at Hughes do, and then they point upwards to senior executives and say those people said it, not the managers.

I think many senior executives and top managers actually like Teamworks and then pretend they don’t.

Word from our management is Teamworks will be monitored closely. It will likely factor in to potential layoffs and other downsizing between now and the end of the year.

How do people live like this? They watch your badge punches, they track your work, yet the company doesn't even have a viable product and is dying. Just a pathetic place
